Custom business software for the way your company already works

Most Indian businesses we speak to are not short of software. They are short of software that fits. The accounting package handles invoices, a CRM was bought and abandoned, and the actual work — who quoted what, which order is stuck, what the floor needs today — lives in Excel files and WhatsApp groups. Custom business software is how that middle layer gets a home: one system, built around your process, that your team opens every morning.

Who this is for. Owners and operations heads at Indian SMEs — trading, manufacturing, distribution, services, retail — where the process is the competitive edge and off-the-shelf tools either ignore the exceptions or force a workaround for every one of them.

Problems this solves

The business runs on files only one person understands.

A master sheet with macros, colour codes, and a tab nobody may touch. When that person is on leave, the work slows down. We turn the logic in that sheet into screens, rules, and permissions anyone on the team can follow.

Approvals happen in chat and disappear.

Discounts, purchase requests, dispatch sign-offs — approved with a thumbs-up in a group that scrolls away. Software gives each decision an owner, a timestamp, and a trail you can find later.

Packaged software covers most of it, but not the part that matters.

You have tried the popular tool. It handles the standard case and fights you on the way you actually price, schedule, or fulfil. Custom software starts from your exceptions, not from a vendor’s template.

Nobody can see the whole picture.

Sales knows one thing, accounts another, the warehouse a third. A single system of record means everyone reads the same status instead of calling each other to ask.

What we build

Order, job, and project tracking

Every enquiry, quote, order, or job as a record with a status, an owner, and a history — with the stages named the way your team already names them.

Approval and workflow engines

Rules for who signs off what, at which amount or stage, with reminders and escalation instead of follow-up calls.

Client, vendor, and dealer portals

A login for people outside the company to see their orders, documents, and status — without access to your internal data.

Integrations with what you already pay for

Tally or your accounting system, Google Workspace, WhatsApp Business, payment gateways, email — connected so data is entered once.

How the work runs

Phased, with working software early. The full studio sequence is on Approach.

  1. 01

Map how the work moves today

We sit with the people who do the work and trace one real loop end to end: who starts it, who approves, where it stalls, and which exceptions happen every week. The output is a written brief you can read and correct.

  2. 02

    Ship one working slice

Instead of designing everything up front, we build the single loop that hurts most and put it in front of real users early. Feedback from the floor shapes what comes next.

  3. 03

    Extend in phases

Each following phase adds a loop, a report, or an integration. You see working software at every step and can reprioritise between phases.

  4. 04

    Hand over and stay on

Code, cloud accounts, and documentation sit with you. We stay on for the cases that only show up once the whole team is using it.

Technical approach

We choose boring, well-supported technology that another team could pick up later: a typed web front end, a relational database, and a backend in the language that suits the job — or the language your existing system already uses. Hosting goes into cloud accounts you own.

Questions we hear

How is custom business software different from buying an off-the-shelf tool?+

Off-the-shelf tools are built for the average company in a category. Custom software is built around your process, your exceptions, and your vocabulary. It makes sense when the way you work is part of why customers choose you — and the packaged tool keeps forcing workarounds.

We only have Excel and WhatsApp today. Is that too early for custom software?+

No — that is the most common starting point. Your sheets and chats already describe the process. We use them to map the first loop and build it, then retire the files one at a time.

How long does it take and what does it cost?+

It depends on how many loops, users, and integrations are involved, so we do not quote before we understand the work. After a first conversation and a short mapping exercise, we give you a phased plan with scope for each phase so you can decide how far to go.

Will we own the code and data?+

Yes. Repositories, hosting accounts, domains, and data sit in accounts you control. If you ever change vendor, the next team can pick it up.

Do you work only with Mumbai businesses?+

Our studio is in Fort, Mumbai, and meeting in person is easy for Mumbai teams. We also work with businesses across India over calls and screen-shares.
